Lake County's Neglect of Veterans

Lake County Has Prevented Veteran Compensation

Step into the Lake County V.A.C. office, and you will see that we are not providing for veterans in Lake County.

There is no staff person in the reception area. There is a sign that says, "No walk-in appointments."   There is no phone. . . just a locked door.   The head of the Veterans Assistance Commission has said that staff is insufficient to answer the needs of veterans.

The Lake County Board has underfunded and understaffed the Veterans Assistance Commission. Lake County veterans are so under-served that we are 10% less effective than the rest of the United States.   Lake County's superintendent of Veterans Assistance reported abuse of power by Lake County's administrator, but no action was taken (linked audio here).    The Lake County Board showed hostility and disrespect toward our veterans.
