Contractors and subcontractors must pay mechanics and laborers on the site at least the local prevailing wage including fringe benefits. This protects local workers from being underpaid to reduce a contract bid.
Organized labor is responsible for safety in the workplace. Companies cut corners and make sacrifices to increase profits. With public companies, the duty to shareholders requires profit to be a priority. Labor law requirements allow management to treat workers properly.

We should all be concerned about the ongoing boycott of Lincolnshire businesses. To please GOP leadership, our trustees have promoted a right-wing policy that hurts our Lincolnshire community economically.
